{Reaping the Harvest God Promised You}

Let us not become weary in doing good,

for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up,” Galatians 6:9.

There is a season to plant and a season to sow.  The laws of nature dictate a process is required in order to end up with a harvest. There is no skipping the process; there is no bypassing the course of action. In order to reap, you must first sow. The problem with waiting for a harvest is that in order to reap its’ benefits, work is required. “Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap,” (Galatians 6:7). Without intentional sowing and planting, you may end up with a less than desirable harvest.

The saddest part of this unintentional sowing and planting is waiting for a harvest for so long only to find out that your crops are nothing but weed and chaff. So let’s look at this a little bit closer. Aligning yourself now will ensure that your time of harvest will produce an abundant and great harvest.

SOW: Sow your time, gifts, and talents into the Kingdom of God. Sow justice, mercy, grace, peace, love, kindness, generosity, humility, joy, patience, gentleness and self-control.

TILL THE LAND: Take time to look at your land and begin to uproot the weeds that sprout out threatening to choke out your future harvest. By the power of God’s word and the Holy Spirit, look at your life and uproot everything that gets in the way or damages the seed which you’ve worked so hard to sow.

WAIT: Wait on the Lord. The times and seasons must change in order for harvest time to arrive. Be still, be patient, rest in the Lord while you wait for your harvest.

HARVEST: Because you did not get tired of doing what is good, the proper time will arrive and you will be able to take out your threshing tools. You will be able to delight yourself in the harvest God promised you! It’s God’s promise to you and because He spoke it, it must come to pass!

Enjoy this wonderful song by Hezekiah Walker reminding you that you will reap the harvest God promised you!
